Doris A. Henderson

Doris Ann Henderson, age 81 of Surprise, Arizona passed away on January 5, 2026, in Glendale, Arizona. She was born on July 20, 1944, in Denmark, Tennessee to the late Ezekiel D. White and Clyde Ruth Taylor White.

Doris was married to the late Christopher Henderson for 39 years. Doris received her Bachelor of Psychology from Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Theology from Azusa World Ministries. Doris also received her Certificate of License for Ordained Ministry in 2002 and 2003 from Azusa World Ministries.

Doris was a very classy lady who loved to laugh and dance. Doris also had love for sports such as football, basketball, tennis, and golf.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen Simpson of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Rose Woods of Nashville, Tennessee and Carolyn White of Jackson, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Mia (Robert) Russell of Phoenix, AZ, T.J. (Gabrielle) Simpson of Phoenix, AZ, Nathan Simpson of Phoenix, AZ; five great-grandchildren, Micah Simpson, Xander Simpson, Lincoln Simpson, Amari Russell and Rayne Russell, all of Phoenix, AZ.

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Henderson; her parents, Ezekiel D. White and Clyde Ruth Taylor White; her brothers, Nolan D. White, Joe MacArthur White and Melvin L. White; her sisters, Barbara Ruth Woolfork, Janice Faye White, Cornelius “Connie” White, Stella Long, and Bernice Batchelor.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Thompson Funeral Chapel, located at 926 South Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona, 85338. The service is scheduled for January 29, 2026, starting at 1:00 pm.
