Ellen Y. Fyfe

Ellen Yuriko Fyfe, 85, of Litchfield Park, AZ, passed away peacefully at her home on July 17, 2025. The daughter of Minoru and Kiyoko Shiroma of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ellen Fyfe was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, and friend. Ellen was born in Hilo, Hawaii, and attended Hawaii Mission Academy High School. She proudly earned her degree from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Sociology, followed by a career at Kemper Insurance as a workers' compensation adjuster.

Ellen was known for her kindness, generosity, and her love for music, singing, baking, sewing, fashion design, and painting/drawing art. She dedicated her life to her family, always offering a listening ear and unwavering support. To her children, she was loving and fair and emphasized the importance of honesty, virtue, education, and hard work. She enjoyed activities with her family, including Texas Hold ‘Em, and had a competitive spirit! She was the heart of her family and will be dearly missed.

Ellen was preceded in death by her only husband, Robert Fyfe, in July of 1999, after being married for forty-two years with continued never-wavering devotion. She was a dutiful military wife of twenty-one years until his retirement at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, sons and their families; Kathleen Manning (Raymond), Michael Fyfe (Lori), Daniel Fyfe (Shari), Glenn Fyfe (deceased), grandchildren Amy Kelly, Erin Hernandez, Liz Curren (Russell), Shawn Fyfe (Holland), Kylie Fyfe, Valerie Leitko (Robert), Shannon Fyfe (deceased), Ryan Fyfe (LaResa), Derek Fyfe, Jared Fyfe (Laurissa Page), Logan Fyfe (Cassandra), Lorelei Gorr (Connor), Joshua Fyfe (Rheanna), twenty-three great-grandchildren, siblings Kenneth Shiroma deceased (Yasuko), Gary Shiroma (Edean) (deceased), Rodney Shiroma (Kim), Dan Shiroma, Amy Chu (Steven), and Lois Reisenwitz (Rob). All of those she loved and touched deeply.

Please join us in a celebration of her life Saturday morning, August 16th, 2025 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona. Private family gathering to follow.
