It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn L. Mermis, who left us peacefully on August 7, 2024, in Buckeye, Arizona. Born on December 12, 1963, in Salina, Kansas, Glenn was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Glenn was a dedicated family man who married Stacey in 1986. In 1994, the family relocated to Arizona so Glenn could pursue a career at the Nuclear Power Plant. He later transitioned to a rewarding role as a welder with Local 469, where he worked with pride for 15 years until his retirement in 2013.
Retirement brought Glenn immense joy as he devoted his time to his children, grandchildren, and granddogs. His hobbies included shooting guns, rebuilding a cannon, and restoring his cherished Willys Jeep. Glenn's enthusiasm for these activities reflected his vibrant spirit and adventurous nature.
Glenn's legacy is defined by his unwavering dedication to his family, his skilled craftsmanship, and his zest for life. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the profound impact he had on everyone who knew him.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Alyssa (Tony); and his son Brandon (Shaina); his sister Karen Ulrich (Dale), his sister Donna Vlcek (Jim) and his sister Mary Nuss (Monte). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife Stacy Mermis; his son Bryan Mermis and his son Timothy Mermis; his father Elmer Mermis and his mother Dolores Mermis (Hammer Schmidt).
Glenn is also survived by seven grandchildren.
A visitation for Glenn will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, Arizona 85338.
