Guillermo “Willie” Nunez Jr., a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud United States Air Force veteran, and faithful servant of God, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 26, 2026, at the age of 64. Born in Miami, Florida, Willie lived a life defined by faith, integrity, service, laughter, and unwavering love for his family.
Willie was a man of remarkable character — strong, independent, hardworking, and deeply compassionate. He believed in showing love through action and was always the first to step in whenever someone needed help, never expecting anything in return. Whether fixing something around the house, helping a friend or family member, repairing a grandchild’s broken toy, or lending a listening ear, Willie gave generously of his time, energy, and heart. His selflessness, wisdom, and steady presence made him a source of strength and guidance for all who knew him.
Willie proudly served in the United States Air Force for 27 years, achieving the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), a testament to his extraordinary leadership, discipline, and dedication. His military career reflected his deep sense of duty, patriotism, and commitment to excellence. After retiring from the Air Force, Willie continued serving others through his work in insurance, specializing in helping veterans and their families — ensuring they were protected, supported, and cared for. His professional life was marked by integrity, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
A man of deep faith, Willie lived each day anchored in his relationship with God. His trust in the Lord shaped his values, decisions, and the way he loved his family. His life was a living example of humility, perseverance, and grace.
In his personal life, Willie found his greatest joy in his family, whom he cherished beyond measure. His wife of 42 years, children, and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he made it his mission to provide, protect, guide, and love them fiercely. He treasured time spent traveling with his family to places such as San Diego, Northern Arizona, and Hawaii, creating memories filled with laughter and connection. At home, he could often be found working outdoors, perfecting projects around the house, restoring his classic cars, or listening to music that brought him back in time. He was always busy, always building, always creating.
Willie’s sense of humor, quick wit, and warm smile brought light into every room. He had a unique ability to make people laugh, feel comfortable, and feel valued. His presence was a gift, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void.
Willie is survived by his beloved wife, Nadine Nunez; his children, Robinelle Nunez (Brian), William Nunez (Daysy), and Danielle Nunez; and his treasured grandchildren, Braxton, Scarlett, Devin, and William. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis Nunez (Lourdes), and his loyal companion, his beloved dog, Kash. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alida Rose Funcia and Guillermo Eligio Nunez as well as his godmother/aunt Teresa Funcia.
A visitation will be held on March 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Palm Valley Church, located at 431 North Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona, followed by a Celebration of Life service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A committal service with full military honors will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, located at 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, Arizona, 85024 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., where Willie will be laid to rest.
Guillermo “Willie” Nunez Jr. will forever be remembered for his unwavering faith, devoted service, contagious laughter, generous heart, and unconditional love. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he raised, and the countless memories he created. Though deeply missed, his spirit, values, and love will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know him.
