Jim spent his formative years in Ferndale, Michigan in a bustling house with four younger siblings and many other family members.
He graduated from St. James High School where he was three-sport athlete and an honor student. After graduation he worked several jobs to pay for classes at Lawrence Technical University. James met a young nurse named Patricia Sidak and was soon married with two sons.
He got his start in the grocery business and worked his way up to Vice President of a food brokerage and later started his own firm.
In a long lasting second marriage with Jill (Forberg) Samulski, James gained three more sons. He lived most of his life in Michigan including a lake house near East Tawas where he spent time with family and friends and enjoyed boat rides and campfires with his grandkids.
Upon retirement, Jim and Jill became snowbirds and transitioned to Phoenix, where they found a wonderful community. Jim loved golf, shooting pool, horseshoes, mexican Train dominoes, daily crossword puzzles, and Euchre.
He also never missed Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and was a bit of a trivia and history savant.
Jim is survived by his wife Jill, sons Michael (Sharon) Samulski, Adam Samulski, Matt Bartlett, Steve Bartlett, and Scott (Morgan) Bartlett, His five Grandkids who will miss him very much: Joey, Tommy, Kelly, Lilly, and Tatum. And his siblings Mary Samulski, George (Elaine) Samulski, Ed ( Helen) Samulski and Peggy (Tom) Bradley.
As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim's spirit will be greatly missed. And though we know Jim is no longer with us, his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
