

He was born on July 18, 1978 in Papillion, NE to John R. and Cheryl R. Vinson.
Joel attended grade school, high school, and community college in San Jose, CA. some of which was homeschooling since he was a competitive figure skater skating at the international level. He was also an accomplished hockey player skating at the Jr. B level. Joel was an avid San Jose Sharks fan and Raiders fan. After retiring from competitive skating, he went on to coach skating and hockey in the Bay area and in Phoenix. He was currently practicing and aspiring to become a DJ.
He made many friends throughout his lifetime and has tried to keep in touch with all of them. He is remembered for lighting up the room with his unique and witty sense of humor (and his house at Christmas time) and his unconditional support for all of his friends.
He was an animal lover and dearly loved all of his pets including his cats Booger and Theo, and his dogs Charlie, Jake, Darcy, Buster, and Gracie. Joel was greatly saddened when they passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Joel is survived by his mother and father and his brother Jon Noel Vinson of Buckeye, AZ. He is also survived by uncles and aunts Thomas and Karen Vinson of Chatsfield, Minnesota and Jeri(Vinson) and John Fisher of Huntley, Il. He is predeceased by one aunt, Andrea Vinson, his grandparents Thomas and Wanda Vinson of DeSoto, Il and his grandparents Rudolph and Mary Konetshny of Spring Valley, Il.
Private family services will be held.
