John Olin McCrory, 72, passed away on February 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Ogallala, Nebraska, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. John was a veteran of 28 years who will be remembered for his love of Christ, family and country. He is survived by Rhonda (wife), his three sisters- Julie, Carol and Joy, Amber (daughter), John Brian (son), seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and predeceased by his father- John Adams McCrory, mother- Mary “Jean” McCrory and step-father- Royal McGaughey.
In his final month, John was given comfort by God through multiple blessings. First, the Holy Spirit spoke to his heart that Philippians 1:21- “To live is Christ, to die is gain”- should give him comfort during his life’s end. Second, God made way for each of his sisters to come at the perfect times for their expertise. Finally, while he had one of the most painful types of cancer, he was blessed to have pain that was well controlled with minimal pain medications. Though typically a man of few words, John had the ability to make people feel safe, comfortable and genuinely loved. His genuine and kind nature conveyed Christ’s love in action.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 26, 2026 at Desert Hills Baptist Church at 10:00 am with a Military Honors Funeral held the following day, February 27, 2026 at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Camp Navajo in Bellemont at 12:30 pm.
