Leonard Allan Campbell, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by family.
Born in Glendale, California on June 4, 1949, he grew up in the community of Forest Falls, California, where he developed the rugged spirit and sharp sense of humor that would define him throughout his life.
Allan lived a life of service and hard work. He grew up living and working alongside his family in the Forest Home Christian Conference Center community, where his dedication began early. At just 15 years old, he started washing dishes for Forest Home, learning the value of responsibility and effort. As a young boy, he joined the Boy Scouts and eventually became an Explorer Scout, continuing to build the skills that would guide him throughout his life. In 1969, eager to put those skills to use, he gave back to his hometown as a volunteer firefighter with the Forest Falls Forestry Service, proudly serving the community that raised him. At the age of 21, he sought to spread his wings and joined the United States Air Force, dedicating 24 years to his country with strength, discipline, and unwavering devotion.
During his military career, Allan held a variety of roles, including:
• Diet Therapy Specialist
• Machine Shop Technician
• NCOIC, Metals Technology
• Fabrications Flight Programs Manager
• Base Hazardous Waste Manager
His commitment to excellence was recognized with multiple honors and commendations, including:
• 2 Meritorious Service Medals
• 8 Good Conduct Medals
• 2 Air Force Commendation Medals
After retiring from military service, Allan continued his vocation of responsibility and stewardship as Hazardous Waste Water Manager for Prudential Overall Supply, where he worked for 17 years with the same reliability and work ethic that defined his life.
Beyond his distinguished service and career, he held a profound love for the outdoors. He always found his peace beneath the stars in Camp Wood, whether camping, hunting at dawn, or just greeting the morning with a cup of coffee in the wilderness. At home, he could often be found enjoying his garden, inspecting his tomatoes, or quietly watching the hummingbirds that visited the yard daily. These moments brought him joy and reflected his appreciation for simple, honest living.
He is survived by his three children: Gregory Campbell, Jennifer Osborn, and Sara Guy, his sister Linda McLeod and seven loving grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Leonard and Norma Campbell, and sisters Joyce Vivian and Cheryl McCarty.
Allan will be remembered for his strong will, his humor, his loyalty, and the way he showed love without saying a word.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 17th at 11:00 AM at Thompson’s Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona immediately followed by an Inurnment Ceremony at Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery in Buckeye, Arizona. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
“His love was quiet, but we could always feel it.”
