Mary F Du Hart

Mary was born on April 15, 1944 in Toledo, OH. to Johnny and Essie Mae Coates. She was one of eleven siblings. Mary was raised in the country in Sylvania, MI. and attended Whiteford High School in Ottawa Lake, MI. Mary moved to Toledo, OH where she met and married Paul Du Hart, Sr. They were wed in 1965.  

She worked for many years with Hunt's and then left to work for the Chrysler corporation as a production worker. Mary retired from Chrysler after serving more than 32 years of service.

Mary had a loving and joyful personality. She was a prominent member of a bowling league in Toledo for many years.

Mary loved to travel, especially to  Las Vegas, NV. where she enjoyed playing on the slot machines.She loved dancing and listening to music.One of her favorite past times after retiring was hanging out with friends and family. She was the life of the party. 

 She was a beloved mother, granny, sister and friend. She was considered to be the matriarch of her family. 

She is survived by her beloved sons, Tim (Teresa) Coates and Paul  C. (Vansella) Du Hart, Jr., her siblings Geneva Coates, A.J. Coates, Robert Coates, Carl Coates and Charles Coates. Also left to mourn are her 17 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Donya M. Du Hart and her siblings John Coates, Jr., Luella Coates, Bessie Bester, Tyrone Coates and Gerald Coates.

Mary's joyful spirit will be greatly missed. While Mary is no longer with us, her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

A visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10 AM. Her celebration of life will follow at 11 AM, officiated by the Pastor Abraham Harris III.

Her interment will be at 1 PM, also on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ.
