Nora L. Porter

She grew up in the Avondale/goodyear area with her twin sister Nola and attended the Avondale school systems. She was the Mother of 4 children, Shawnya Austin, Tammy Porter, Zepniaha Porter III, and Robert Tyrone Rogers who preceded her in death. She married Zepniaha Porter Jr. in 1974 in Tolleson, Arizona. She accepted the Lord as a teenager under the leadership of Elder Wese Jones. She loved praising the Lord. She was employed by Parker Hannifan for 30 years. One of her favorites sayings was “ Always keep in mind, all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.”

She is survived by her two daughters Shawnya Austin, and Tammy Porter , one son Zepniaha Porter III. Four sisters , Wanda Minnitt, Pearlie Mae Rogers , Marguerite Day , Nola Kelsey, and one brother Eddie James Rogers.15 grandchildren , 17 great grandchildren , and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Zepniaha Porter Jr. , her son Robert Tyrone Rogers, mom and dad LD. and Lottie Mae Rogers , 4 sisters Willie Bea Moore, Callie Tyson, Lula Mae Brown, Alice Faye Rogers, and 2 brothers LD. Rogers Jr. , Jesse Frank Rogers.

A Viewing & Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 South Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona 85338, USA, on April 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Avondale Baptist Church, 1001 N Central Avenue, Avondale, Arizona 85323, on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Nora’s Final Resting Place will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024, on April 20, 2026.
