Richard Garland Harden (1951-2025) a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025 at his home after battling dementia. Born on July 1, 1951 in Phoenix, AZ, Richard was a follower of Jesus, hard worker and family man.
Son of Harvey & Irma Harden, brother to Alyce Laube and Ralph Harden, husband to Barbara Harden, father to Timothy Harden & Michael Favela, grandfather to Alex Harden, Ehlana Favela & Aria Favela. And uncle to 10 nieces and nephews.
Richard spent the first part of his life working in the grocery business. While working, he put himself through HVAC school and transitioned to commercial facilities midlife.
Richard never met a project he couldn’t tackle. He spent his whole life building, remodeling and working on any and all projects he could find. His shop was his happy place, filled with more tools than he knew what to do with. He loved old cars. He enjoyed restoring cars with Tim and working on his pride and joy, his 1954 Chevy truck. His other love was music, especially Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and anything with a guitar solo. He was a family man, always putting his family first and cherished his relationships. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 6:00pm at The Refinery Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley in Rick's memory.
