Saundra “Saunie” Erickson, a cherished resident of Goodyear, Arizona, passed away on July 2, 2024. Born on April 27, 1939, in Geneva, New York, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Axtell and Margaret Miller Axtell. Saunie was preceded in death by her second husband, Curt Erickson, and her son, Jeff Arwine (1965).
Saunie graduated from Penn Yan Academy in Penn Yan, New York in 1957. She married Donald Arwine in 1957, and they were together until 1975. Later, she married Curtis Erickson in 1979, and they shared their lives until 2004. Saunie relocated to Arizona in 1967, where she built a fulfilling career that included time at Willis and culminated in her retirement from Prudential. She actively participated in the community as a member of BPW, Las Chicas, and the Goodyear Chamber.
Saunie is survived by her daughters, Cindy Pearce-Bean and Donna Arwine, along with her siblings Patty Nickey, Richard Axtell, and Robert Perry. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, her extended Erickson family, and many friends.
