Tamie was born on February 17th, 1969, to Reta Ann Colerick and Donald Lee Alcorn in Yakima, Washington. She roller skated and danced the days away before she graduated from West Valley High School in 1987. In Arizona, she got married to Richard Yabut and had two children, Zeth and Annaka. She worked as a patient coordinator at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Years later, she decided to leave the hospital to dedicate her time to raising her children. She volunteered in the buddy room at Palm Valley Church and at her children’s school for several years. She eventually became a paraprofessional teacher at that elementary school before moving to a school for emotionally disabled children as she learned to navigate the intricacies of the students.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with family, cuddling with her dogs, and travelling. She’s travelled all over the states, across the pond to Europe, over the Pacific to Asia, and to the tropics of South America.
Tamie was a woman of compassion, silliness, perseverance, and had a desire to help people. At home, she suddenly made goofy faces, randomly started dancing, and fought for dessert with her kids. She prayed with homeless people, worked with children who had difficult lives, and volunteered her time and effort not only to the church and school, but also to her friends and family. Mathew 22:39, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” She believed that it was not her place to judge or condemn a person no matter who they were. She wasn’t perfect, she knew that; she had health issues and personal hardships throughout her life and yet she trudged her way through it because she wanted to live. Despite everything, no matter what was going on in her life, she always had love she wanted to give.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Richardson Yabut, her son, Zeth (Rhiannon) Yabut, her daughter, Annaka Yabut, her cousins Christina (Bill) Sauriol and Sandra Scully Riley, her two turkey dogs, Eve and Skye, and many more family members and friends, old and new.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reta Ann Colerick and Donald Lee Alcorn, her aunt, Judy Scully, and her grandparents, Doris Colerick and Ron Colerick.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Palm Valley Church, located at 431 North Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona, 85338. The service is scheduled for February 7, 2026, starting at 9:00 am.
Following the Celebration of Life, a Committal Service will take place at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ, on February 7, 2026, beginning at 12:45 pm.
