

Florida, passed away on February 15, 2026. He was born in Greenport, New York on September 23, 1934.
Art served 5 years in the United States Air Force stationed all around the world.
He was a jack of all trades in his work life, but his real passion was for woodworking
which also carried over into his many hobby projects.
The last 20 years of Art's career was spent with the Simi Valley Unified School District
where he utilized his talents as a custodian.
Most of Art's retirement years were spent in Kingman, AZ where he volunteered for
multiple non-profits. For the past 3 years, Art moved to Orlando, FL to live with his
daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed going to the theme parks, traveling, and spending time with his grandkids. Many hours were also spent watching his favorite baseball team, the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Art is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ed Sabis (Orlando, Florida),
son and daughter-in-law, Christos and Dana Richards (Hermosa Beach, CA), step
daughters, Dawn Kiefer (Phoenix, Arizona) and Dena Chandler (Porter Ranch,
California); his grandchildren, Andy, Rob, Maddie, Katie, and Jimmy Sabis, Noelle
Richards; his step grandchildren, Leslie, Jamie, Taylor, and Kaitlin; brother, Robert
Rawls and his wife Arlene, and his many nieces and nephews, Laurenda and her son, Cameronallyn Denmark, Chris and Robyn and their children, Maya, Skylar, and
Evangaline Rawls.
Art will be missed for his jovial attitude, constant smile and motto “Don’t be sorry… be happy.
