

She died peacefully at Winter Park Care & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Shamrock, Missouri on December 6, 1933 to John B. Ross and Iona Ruth (Harrison). She married Ray T. Cox, Jr. on April 30, 1952. Ray was being sent to England with the U.S. Air Force, and upon Betty's high school graduation, she joined him there. They were there during the time of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Their only child, daughter Linda Rae Cox was born at Burtonwood AFB, England.
Betty was very active in both the Pine Castle Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #321, and Athaliah Temple No.114 Daughters of the Nile. Her husband was a Mason and she sewed many outfits for that organization. She crocheted, embroidered and sewed many beautiful items during her life. She sewed Barbie doll clothes at night after Linda went to bed so she could surprise her.
She made many of Linda's clothes as she was growing up, as well as maternity outfits when Linda was expecting her son Michael. She made many intricate Halloween costumes over the years for the family. She enjoyed playing piano for own pleasure.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Ray, after 61-1/2 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents and four siblings. She is survived by her daughter Linda Prince (Steve) and one grandson Michael Betsinger (Michael Kelly). She also has many cousins and nieces and nephews in the Midwest. She will be missed by her sisters in the Eastern Star and the Nile.
