

McMahan, Carmen LaViolette "" Carmen LaViolette McMahan, 79 of Windermere, FL passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2013 with her family at her side. Born on August 16, 1933 in Proctor, MN she was the youngest of Frederick and Yvonne LaViolette's three children. Carmen graduated from Proctor HS in 1951 and then attended the Duluth Business University. She married Joseph David McMahan on June 25, 1955 moving shortly afterwards to Orlando, FL. She retired from Walt Disney World in 1994 after 23 years of service as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Operations. In her retirement, she served as the secretary for the Golden Ears Club and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her large family. Her retirement was not what she planned, but she accepted the cross God gave her to bear with courage and grace. "You are my beloved Daughter in whom I am well pleased" She is survived by her devoted husband of almost 58 years, her four children: Gayle Zambito and husband Sam. Dr. Michael McMahan and wife Sally. Jayne Willis and husband John. Patti Merrick and husband Gary. 16 grandchildren: Michael, Marissa, Christopher, Emily, Ben, Joey, Patrick, Jack, Paige, Catesby, John, Brett, Courtney, Robby, Lauren, and Stephen, and 3 great grandchildren: Aidan, Jacob, and Ashlyn all of Central Florida, as well as her siblings Marcel LaViolette of Annandale, VA and Anita Schultz of Seattle, WA. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando, FL on Thursday May 30 from 7-9 pm followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday May 31, 2013 at 10am. Internment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Gotha, FL. Donations can be made in her honor to the Orlando Health Foundation in recognition of the VNA staff who lovingly helped Joe care for her for so many years.
