Carol Grace Marchbanks Phillips, 77 returned home to her Heavenly Father on October 12, 2017. She was the wife of Joseph Wylie Phillips to whom she was married for sixty years.
Carol was born in Travelers Rest, SC. Her father was Tom Marchbanks (deceased) and her mother was Evie Stone (deceased). The household of her youth included three brothers: Eugene (deceased), Wayne, and Ronnie (deceased). Her grandfather, Hovey Marchbanks (deceased) also lived with the family. By all accounts they grew up happy and strong on Arial Mountain in Easley, SC.
After marring Wylie, a sailor, the young family made homes in multiple Navy ports. In a short time there were four children. Her children include Joey Phillips and his wife Bernadette, Larry Phillips and wife Kim, Roger and his fiancée Joy, Theresa and her husband Phil.
Carol had a life-long love affair with her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews, babies, puppies, birds, crafts, music, dancing, buttermilk, Dr. Pepper and candies of various description.
She is survived by her husband, their children, eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
