

CATHERINE Y. HARRIS- Caye with a ‘C’, age 79, was born April 21, 1933 in Port Huron, Michigan. She loved playing with dolls as a child and always wanted to be a mommy. She attended the University of Miami where she played the bells in the Marching Band, then later worked at the Southern Bell phone company. She was married in 1959 & moved to central Florida to start a family. She was a member of the Home Runners club and played softball & bowled on community leagues. Caye felt her calling in life was to teach children and worked in the Guidance department/substitute teacher at Meadowbrook Jr. High. Later she worked as a teacher’s aide at Ridgewood Elem & Rolling Hills Elem, using puppets to entertain the kids on the morning announcements. She then embarked on adventurous travels across the U.S. with her husband, Jim, in their motorhome. Her laughter, friendship and love will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Jim, daughter Sandra (Alan) Hoffman & two grandsons, of Ocoee, and daughter Cyndi, of Orlando. She is predeceased by her son Jimmy Harris.
