Cecil L. Davis of Winter Garden, Fl., passed away on Wednesday October 6, 2010. He was born on December 9, 1922 in Dupont, Ga. as one of twelve children to Travis Walton Davis and Serena Jane Pittman. The family soon moved to Altha, Fl. where he was raised. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in France where he met Therese Harvey, his wife of 52 years, in Paris. He retired from Georgia Natural Gas Company in Waycross, Ga. with over 40 years of service. Cecil was an avid hunter, fisherman and ham radio operator. After retirement he and his wife moved to Florida to be near their children. He is survived by his two daughters Patricia Gibbs and Cynthia Turner; his son-in-laws, John W. Gibbs and William Jack Turner; three granddaughters, Heather Winters, Blair Gibbs and Robin Arce; and two great-granddaughters, Riley Winters and Paige Winters. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday October 14, 2010 at 11:30am at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. Arrangements entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home.
