

CHARLES WESLEY FESSLER SR., “Charlie,” 94, went to be with the Lord, in Windermere, Florida on May 19, 2012. The son of the late Clifford and Lena Fessler of Lima, Ohio, is survived by Miriam (Midge) Fessler, his loving wife of 68 years. He leaves behind three sons and their families to cherish his memory: Charles Fessler Jr. (Judy) of Jacksonville, Robert (Susan) of Newberg, OR, and Stephen (Randall Lord) of Windermere; five grandchildren: James Fessler, Deborah Copeland, Laura Wilson, Michael Fessler, David Fessler; and ten great-grandchildren. Charlie will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and ability to deliver a good joke. Music was a passion of Charlie’s. He was an accomplished musician, painter and baker, who owned and operated a bakery in the 1950’s in Jacksonville. He gave his time and talents to benefit others as a volunteer at St. Vincent’s Hospital and All Saints Nursing home. As a Shriner, he drove crippled children from Jacksonville to Tampa to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children so they could receive treatment. Charlie proudly served in the United States Army, fighting for our freedom in World War II. Most importantly, he will now cheer on his beloved Gators from Heaven. Funeral service will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 24th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Orlando. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice is requested.
