Charles passed away surrounded by family and friends. Charlie was an avid listener of 88.5 FM WMNF and an original member of Homebrew Hillsborough. He could tell you what year a VW Van was made with just a glance. Most afternoons you could find him lying in his hammock on the porch, sipping Kombucha with a book clutched in his hand. He went back to USF at age 69 to finish his BA in Philosophy. He was a kind friend, great listener, and supportive loving father. He is survived by his daughter Skye and brother David. He is proceeded by his wife Marguerite Spillane-Piatt who is now interned with him at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to WMNF or to the American Cancer Association.
