Clyde Raymond Church was born in Belpre, Ohio on August 10, 1928. He was the youngest of ten children of Madge (Gainer) and William Church. In 1938 he moved to Orlando, Florida with his family. At a young age he began riding in trucks with his older brothers which eventually turned into a career as a long distance truck driver. He served as Fire Chief with the Holden Heights Fire Department for many years. In 1968 he changed careers and bought a little country store in the boondocks off Narcossee Rd. There he touched many lives in the community and everyone enjoyed his camaraderie. In 1995 he decided to retire a little and spend time with his wife and grandchildren in the Mountains of North Carolina. In 2014 he finally retired but still keeping his active lifestyle of mowing grass, running his backhoe or just piddling around. Clyde leaves behind 6 children: Patricia Simmons (Phillip), Charles
Church (Carla), Deborah Church, Barbara Tyler, Michael Church (Donna), Byron Todd (Becky), 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He will be truly missed as he has changed our lives forever as a father, mentor and friend.
