Dalton Turnbull was born on October 2, 1956, in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, to Luther Turnbull and Virgie Fahie. At the age of 11, Dalton relocated to St. Thomas with his mother, where he spent much of his early life before moving to New York as teenager in the 70’s.
In New York, Dalton pursued a successful career in construction, working with an Italian contractor —a position he obtained through family and friends who recognized his strong work ethic and determination. In 1981at Nick’s Corner, he met Cheryl Harris. It was love at first sight. Their bond grew quickly, leading to the birth of their daughter, Stephanie, on July 18, 1983, and the solidification of their union through marriage on August 29, 1987.
In 1992, Dalton and Cheryl decided to plant new roots in Florida, where Dalton’s beloved mother had also settled. With a U-Haul and a dream, the Turnbull family made their way to Apopka, Florida, where Dalton fulfilled his lifelong goal of building his own
home—paid in full, or as he proudly put it, “Cash Money.” That home became the heartbeat of many cherished memories, meals, celebrations, and moments of laughter. He often told Cheryl, affectionately referred to as “Ma,” “I’m setting you up, Ma,” reflecting his unwavering commitment to caring for his wife and family.
Dalton was a man of many talents and trades. In Florida, he expanded his entrepreneurial spirit by becoming a ticket broker for sporting events, a role he embraced passionately until 2024. Whether selling tickets, fixing cars, house remodel, helping someone buy a car, home, airport pickups, drop offs, and hospital visits. Dalton was always willing to lend a hand. He found joy in the simple things—playing cards and Rummikub, gambling "around the way," dancing, hosting dinners, telling jokes, and simply being surrounded by the people he loved.

Thank-You
We are truly grateful for your presence, prayers, and support during this time. Dalton meant so much to so many—a light, a protector, a provider, and a man who lived fully and gave
generously. His legacy will live on in every memory shared, every lesson taught, and every life touched.
As I walk through the many days, weeks, months, and years ahead, I will continue to process that he is no longer physically here. Yet I hold tightly to the hope and promise we have from Jehovah God—the hope of seeing him again. John 5:28-29
With heartfelt thanks, Cheryl Turnbull & The Joseph Family
