David Clyde West, 73, of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida passed away on May 9, 2013. Mr. West was born on January 22, 1940 in Cuba, Illinois to the late South and Frances (Crouthers) West. He was a retired linesman for GTE Telephone Company. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and boating; however he is most remembered by his talents in the kitchen. David’s father, a baker, taught him everything he knew. He baked pumpkin tortes, chocolate ganache and wedding cakes for his daughter and daughter-in-law. He even shared how to make his sausage gravy recipe with his kids. He is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Pence. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Carol; daughter, Michelle Marie (Bob) Rotenberger; sons, David Phillip (Susan) West, Michael Timothy (Kirsten) West, Eric Raymond West; sisters, Gloria Hacek, Southaretta Boaz and Kathleen LaDean; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
