She was born June 24, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, to Patricia A. O’Hara.
Dixie, loving wife, mother to three, grandmother to eight, and a great grandmother to eleven will be remembered for many different things. She worked for Safeway in her early years and Hallmark Cards prior to retirement. She was a devoted Christian and shared close relationships at her church.
Dixie was a full-time homemaker; in her spare time, she loved doing needlepoint, sewing, gardening, baking, making porcelain dolls, as well as decorating her home. She was an accomplished seamstress and made some of the most beautiful dresses for herself and family. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She loved to put on a display and was well known for her animated window scenes. Dixie loved all holidays! She would dress herself up as much as she would the house! She had a great sense of style and loved to shop. She loved spending time with family both near and far. In her younger years, she enjoyed running track and was said to be a track star, as well as a square-dancing legend with BJ.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Byrle J. “BJ” Napier; Son, David Gleichmann; Sisters, Myra Berliner, Bonnie Upson, and Patty Romero; and Brother, Floyd O’Dowd.
She is survived by Children: Debbie Brumley, Brenda Aldrich (Jerry), and Steven Gleichmann (Diana); Grandchildren: Justin Hays, Jeremy Hays, Joshua Hays, Kristy Aldrich, Tina Aldrich, Derrick Aldrich, Natasha Gleichmann, and Nicole Gleichmann; and Great Grandchildren: Ryan Hays, Ben Hays, Jace Hays, Kade Hays, Tristin Aldrich, Bridget Aldrich, Landyn Aldrich, Luca Aldrich, Riley Gleichmann, Autumn Aldrich, and Riley Renee Hays.
