Doris Stanley, age 95, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025. While our hearts are heavy, there is a profound sense of peace in her departure; after missing her beloved husband immensely after sixty-four years of marriage, Doris chose Father’s Day to journey home and be by his side once again.
Her reunion with her husband on such a symbolic day serves as a final, beautiful testament to a love that transcends time.
A proud New Englander, she was born and raised in Maine, and she carried the resilient spirit of her home with her throughout her life. As a dedicated military wife, she embraced the challenges of service life with grace. She possessed a rare gift for making friends easily, no matter where the world took. Regardless of the journey, Doris ensured her family always had a warm, loving and stable home.
Beyond her role as a wife and mother, Doris adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for her family was unwavering. She leaves behind a legacy and resilience to be carried on by her family. Her family will cherish her simple request to “Give me a hug and say I love you’ will be remembered as simple words that defined her heart.
We miss you Grandma, Love Danielle, April, Kylie, Zack and Kaylyn.
Mom, you are loved, your daughter.
