Mrs. Dorothy Dot Lois Powell Moegerle

Dorothy L. Moegerle, 95, died Friday, April 9, 2010 after a short illness and a full rich life. A resident of Orlando for the past 25 years, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Born in Beaver Falls, PA in 1914, the daughter of Wilbur and Lillus Powell, she married Philip William Moegerle in 1936. Together they raised four children. She is survived by their children: Gary and wife Jane Moegerle of Summerfield, NC, Gilbert Moegerle of San Dimas, CA, Norris and wife Jan Moegerle of East Liverpool, OH, Deni and husband Steve Corbett of Orlando, FL all survive her, along with nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Wilbur Powell of Warrenville, IL.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Esther Ball, Olive Eddy and Hazel Kimbrough Ball. Her husband of 49 years, Phil who died in 1985 joins the chorus of saints who welcomed Dorothy home at her passing.

Dorothy’s life was marked by a deep and consistent love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All who knew her were blessed by her faith in Christ, especially her family. The benefits of her intimate prayer life are evident in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Countless others in Beaver Falls, Orlando and the Moegerle’s first FL home, Port Charlotte, were blessed by Dorothy’s commitment to prayer and to the service of others.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday April 12th at 7pm at the First Alliance Church on Lake Underhill Road in Orlando with a reception to follow at the church. Burial will follow in Beaver Falls, PA. Family and friends are invited to visit between 6-7 pm at the First Alliance Church.
