Edward Charles Paige was born in New York on September 9, 1930, the first son, to Edward and Ruth Paige. As soon as he finished high school he joined the U.S. Navy where he went to Motion Picture Operator School. He was very proud to serve his country during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Bristol where he served his time as a Movie Operator and Electrician. Soon after his honorable discharge he met and married his beautiful wife, Lillian. They settled into their first home and were soon surrounded by five daughters. The elusive son was not to be, so he set about teaching the girls how to fish, maintain an automobile and, while he was at it, how to fix just about anything. During this time, he served on the Rotterdam Volunteer Fire Department and worked as an electrician for General Electric Company. He retired from Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in the late 1980’s and moved with his wife away from the snow and cold weather to sunny Florida. All who know him will miss Edward’s accomplished sense of humor and uncanny creative ability to turn just about any used item into a treasure. He was kind to every living thing and was deeply loved by his family. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Lillian; his daughters and son-in-laws, Wanda (Alexander) Caputo, Sharon (Robert) Oliver, Sandra Paige, Lora (William) Kellogg and Tami (Scott) Paddock; his grandchildren, Heather (Jonathan) Steding, Collin Kellogg, Paige and Noah Paddock; his great-grandchildren, Dublin and Fenway Steding; his sister and brothers, Dorothy Dillenbeck, Donald Paige, Frederick Paige, and Gary Paige; and his faithful and devoted best-friend and companion, Buddy.
