Elín "Ella" Jóhanna Livingston, 66, of Orlando, Florida was taken from us unexpectedly this past June 9, 2022 and joined the angels in Heaven. She was born in Keflavík, Iceland on January 14, 1956 to Halldóra Jóna Guðmundsdóttir.
Ella was proud of her Icelandic heritage, and even though her American husband, Joe, scooped her up and married her while he was stationed there with the U.S. Navy, she brought Iceland with her to the states. She cherished her family and loved to fill their lives with the smells of good cooking, laughter and just spending time together, especially during the holidays. She was fiercely protective of her children and grandchildren. God help anyone who criticized or berated one of her babies. She, on the other hand, always ensured that they knew right from wrong and provided them with gentle, loving guidance as only she could.
We are devastated by the loss of her, and will hold Ella in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ingólfur Bárðarson.
Ella is survived by her adoring husband, Joe; her beloved children, Birgitta Livingston Maus (Jim); Davið Alan Livingston (Jennifer); Edward Dale Livingston (Lauren), seven grandchildren, Nicole, Alexa, Hannah, Sydney, Ryley, Tristan, Connor and one great-grandchild, Adrienne. Her mother Halldóra and siblings Arnar, Ragnhildur, Brynja and Guðmundur.
We invite you to Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, in Gotha, Florida for a service based on Icelandic and Lutheran traditions at 11:00am on Friday, June 24th, followed by a reception in Celebration of Ella’s Life.
In lieu of flowers, the Livingston Family invites you to make a donation in Ella’s name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Condolences may be offered in the online guest book below.
