I never met my 2nd cousin Elizabeth but through contact with Debbie got to learn about her life . Her grandmother Martha was my granny Lilian's older sister.
 I wish I had known her sooner and been able to arrange a visit to catch up on old times. Her messages through Debbie were loved and treasured by me. She sounded like a lovely lady and I notice family similarities through all the lovely comments left about her.
A wonderful life with treasured memories to look back on.

Elizabeth was an absolute ray of sunshine who touched the hearts of us all over here in England. Richard (her Cousin Geoff’s son and my late husband) thought the world of her and always spoke her fondly of her. After his passing in 2005, Elizabeth was a great friend to Geoff and Muriel and would call them weekly for a catch up and a good giggle. When I first met Elizabeth we were struggling to pick a name for our eldest daughter who was still in my tummy at the time, she walked in to the room and said ‘what about Bronwyn?’. That little girl is now 28 and very proud to be named by such a strong sassy lady. The world is a darker place having lost the shine of Elizabeth but we are sure she’s up there with Geoff and Richard, catching up on old times and putting the world to rights. They absolutely adored her, as we all did. 

My earliest memory of my great aunt Liz was when I was a very small child. The Williams family back then would have frequent get-togethers and holiday  parties with lavish dinners at the family homestead in Orlando. It was at these gatherings  that I finally realized who this lovely lady was. In my childish eyes I thought we had inherited a fascinating fairy princess from a land far, far away. With her shimmering blonde locks,  her English rose complexion, and a thousand watt smile, she stood out like the proverbial sore thumb in the company of all these  dark haired, dark eyed  Williams folks. She was truly a  new breath of fresh air, and I was immediately taken with her. As I grew up and many years passed, I grew to appreciate even more the real aunt Liz. She was a true lady: loving and kind hearted, tolerant and patient, intuitive, always saying things to make me feel as if I had a special place in her heart.  And I knew I did. And it made me love her even more. That has never gone away.
 There were other memories,  of course: playing with Carolyn and my sister Shelley in the backyard kiddy pool while my mother and Liz visited with each other (they were two peas in a pod, same age, fast friends from the very start) and visiting with Liz's parents Toddy and Bert, when they came down to Tampa for big family dinners that my 
 grandmother Myrtle Williams would put together. But perhaps the most touching thing I will keep inside my heart forever is my last phone conversation with  dear aunt Liz. Even though she was in her late nineties, as usual, when it was time to say goodbye,  
 she would say what she had said me for decades:  "darling Rhonda, I do love you so very much". 
I will never forget that last goodbye. God willing, we will see and greet each other again in a far better world.


I will truly miss your intriguing stories, your joyful personality, your wit, your sense of humor, your gorgeous accent, and you telling everyone "up yours". You were a beautiful soul who will dearly be missed!  Say "Hi" to my mom.

You were the “cup of tea” in all the lives you touched. With your wit and sense of humor you were the star of the show.! We will truly miss “our Queen.”

Elizabeth Williams was affectionately called Ms. E in my family. We had the pleasure of taking care of Ms. E and  during our time together got to know her very well. Ms. E had a very sweet and fun side to her. I can remember riding in the car with her and her saying” weee! “with a big smile on her face  when went around the  corners. 
She would say to me,”Christine, you could be a race car driver “.
  Ms. E shared many interesting stories about World War II and her contribution and life during that time. She also shared how she met her husband Wayne a soldier in England, a sweet story that involved her fancy dance moves that had a lot of hip movements. 
Ms. E shared her love for her Grandmother and spending time with her. My favorite was how she was given a shilling to bet on a dog she saw and liked.  Ms. E was just a little girl but recognized the winning dog in the race. Ms. E told her grandmother she liked that dog and her grandmother placed the bet for her. The dog came through and Ms. E had her own money.  Ms. E told this story with such love and affection for her grandmother.
Ms. E was a blessing for me and my daughters,  she was a Godsend to us in a most needed time. I will forever be thankful for the blessings she brought us.

Mom, Thru the fun times and the crazy ones, we were always there for each other.  From you Mom, I learned the love of history, books and traveling.  All of which were essential for me to help others with their Family History and also our own.  There were so many great memories that we shared.  Our trip to England had to be our greatest adventure.  If your original plan was just to sit and visit family, I blew that out of the water.  Riding with Muriel and jumping the train, we were all over the Country.  Going to Grandmas home in Wales, where you spent so much time growing up, was an everlasting memory for me. Living together did have its tense moments.  Fortunately there were many day trips, excursions and us just being bad together, that over powered any disagreements.  I'm thankful for all your help with Genealogy.  We spent many days and late night hours trying to figure our family out.  Your last couple of years of decline were hard for you. The British spirit you had and of course your unlimited cups of Twining Tea, made it all better.  We still continued to make some beach trips, one of your favorite places to be.  Your Love of unlimited sugar made you smile.  I gave you all I had, as I know you did the same for me.  Today I know you are at peace, with Daddy, and all those you missed, that passed before you.  You had the terrific sendoff you deserved.  Everything fell into place and your music was played for all to enjoy. A huge Thanks, to those that helped me make it happen for you.   Thank you for all you did and your Love.

I will always remember my mothers aunt Liz she was such a sweet and gentle soul I was just a child but I remember that English accent and the beautiful smile that went with it. My heart goes out to everyone who feels the loss but most of all to my cousin Debbie may she always remember the good times

Ms. Elizabeth was a very unique person. When I was helping her move in with her Daughter Debbie. So the one room I was packing was filled with books. I will call it her library with I will guess 1,000’s of books. I asked her one day Ms. Elizabeth why do you have this many books she said why not. Lol she was a very sweet lady she will be missed so very much. 

What a lady! Definitely had a cheeky British sense of humour, which, on top of our family connection naturally bonded us even further. There was never a dull  moment with Elizabeth.

I’m so grateful that with all my travels to America, and Katie being from Florida that I got to see Elizabeth numerous times over the years especially after our first visit with the rest of the Todd family in 2007.

We love you Elizabeth, you had a rich and long life and I feel lucky to have been a small part of it. 

We will always be thinking of you ❤️

My friend Irene & I were on a cruise & we docked in Miami on St. David’s Day🌼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿March 1st 2020.  Debbie, Richard, Zak & Josalynn drove all the way down from Orlando to bring Elizabeth to meet up with us🤗We spent the day together & went to some place to eat where this picture was taken. Our balloons were confiscated when Irene & I went back to the ship!!!

I first met Aunt Elizabeth & Debbie in London in 1993 & later in Florida 2007.
I was fascinated to hear stories about my Dad’s family. 
Drinking champagne with her from Napoleon’s wine glass will remain a treasured, happy memory !
I feel privileged to have known Elizabeth, a special,delightful & much missed lady.

I met Mrs. Williams when I was 12 years old.  She was such a witty and interesting person and always had a very positive influence on me.  I am thankful to have known her because she made me feel good about myself.
Through the years, Liz had health problems that never seemed to bring her down.  She loved life and her family!  She was absolutely "one-of-a-kind"!

I met Elizabeth through Debbie years ago. I immediately fell in love with her. I could have listened to her stories and vast knowledge of history forever. I remember wondering ….how can she  hold all of that information in her head?
I picture her now in heaven’s library devouring knowledge and putting a smile on everyone’s face with her beautiful, spunky spirit.
I remember one time when she came over for dinner we sat on the patio and had a wonderful conversation. I will always cherish that time.  As I write this I am wearing a butterfly ring that she gave me. I was doing a facial on her and commented on the ring she was wearing, she insisted that I take it…. and I mean insisted!!! 
Thank you Elizabeth for the small chapter that I was blessed enough to share with you.. Fly high like the Beautiful butterfly that you are!


When Aunt Liz first came to our family picnic I was so happy to see her.  She was so friendly and pleasant to be around.

Through the wonders of DNA, Elizabeth’s daughter Debbie and I found we were related and the familial link was through Elizabeth’s father. Elizabeth was my Great Aunt… my beloved mother’s Aunt. I only knew her a few years. She was ‘Aunt Elizabeth’ to me - never ‘Auntie Liz’ or anything else.

Sadly we didn’t get to meet in real life, but we did meet virtually, thanks to today’s technology. We Skyped, and boy, did we chat! Aunt Elizabeth’s accent surprised me - she still sounded so British, even after all her years in America! 

I learned to love her as she told us of her many memories of her life and her (our!) many family, members, including tales of my own grandfather (her brother) being a ‘speed boy’ and ‘fast man’ as he drove his cars; she also recalled being about 7 years old and bouncing my dear mum as a baby on her knee! She loved telling us all about the people, the times, about life back then. I wish now that we had spoken more. I wish we had met in real life, but I love that Aunt Elizabeth and I did get to know each other and that we had that familial link to my own late mum, her niece.

The last of a generation, another one sadly ‘gone before’, Aunt Elizabeth will be missed by all those whose life she touched. 

Thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Elizabeth, and with all of her loved ones (both, family and friends) who mourn her passing and grieve her loss, but who are much the richer for having known her.
