Elmer Frank “Al” Lemesh was born in Harvey, IL on July 13, 1919 to the late immigrant parents Frank & Christina Lemesh. It was their experience that “uniforms” were bad. Hence, no boy scouts. However, when “travel, education & career” called he joined the Army Air Force, later the US Air Force. During his 23 year career in communications, Al moved up the ranks from enlisted to officer, retiring as a captain in Washington, DC. IBM and Western Union came next. The sunny south brought his next 2 careers; real estate sales and real estate management, working at Harbour Bend until he was 85 and blind. Al was a sportsman (bowling, golf & fishing), game player (gin rummy, bridge), a musician (organ, ukulele, guitar, accordion and more), humanitarian (New Start, Viet Nam family resettlement, multiple church positions) and last but not least, a very forward thinking man. Al failed to meet his goal of 95 by 11 days. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bailey; their 7 children, Karen Sousa, Dr. Aleen Lemesh, Galen Lemesh, John, Clay & Ben Bailey, 11 Grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren & 3 nephews.
