

ENA IDELLE SANDIFORD, 81 of Orlando, Florida, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 29, 2023. Ena was born in Barbados, West Indies on April 23, 1942 to Violet and Grafton Simmons. She received her primary education at All Saints Girls School. Ena was the first born of her parents’ children; Ena, Victor, Glyne, Delloyd, Angela and Janice (step-sister).
Ena married Vincent Sandiford April 23, 1967 and this union resulted in two sons, Roger and Corey. She was the proud grandmother of Mya Sandiford, daughter of Roger and Amy Tezel.
Our beloved Ena had a sense of humor. She lit up the room with her smile and was a friend to all.
Ena was blessed with culinary skills and worked for seven years at a New York City Day Care Center. She cared deeply for family and friends and had pride in her culinary skills.
The family moved to Florida in 1978 and she began to work at the Marriott Hotel and Sky Chef preparing meals for the airlines. As a longstanding member of the Barbados Association in Orlando, she was able to prepare many island dishes loved by the Barbadians, such as baked pork, fishcakes, and sweetbread.
Ena was a staunch member of St. Mary’s of the Angels Episcopal Church for many years. She was involved with the Garden Club and Hospitality Hours after church.
She is survived by her son Corey Sandiford, granddaughter Mya and her husband Vincent Sandiford. She was predeceased by her son Roger and brother Glyne. Ena leaves to mourn her death a large number of relatives and friends in Barbados and the United States.

Services will be held at St. Mary of The Angels Episcopal Church, 6316 Malchett Road Orlando, FL on Saturday January 20, 2024 at 2:00pm.
The body is entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home, Orlando, Florida.
