

Fay Deusterman, 98, of Sanford, FL, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 19th at her home The Atria of Lake Forest (formerly "The Heritage"), where she had resided for the previous eight years. She was born October 3rd, 1913 in Yankton, SD. Her parents were Jay (Jerry) and Emma Nelson.
She attended Yankton College in South Dakota and Chillicothe Business College in Missouri. She started her Civil Service career working for the Reconstruction Finance Corporation of Price Stabilization and then went on to work as the Executive Legal Secretary for Supreme Court Justice, William O. Douglas, for 20 years, until her retirement in 1972. Justice & Mrs. Douglas honored Fay and 70 of her closest friends with a most extraordinary retirement celebration.
Soon after retirement, Fay moved to Orlando, where later she graduated with honors from Valencia Community College. Soon after her retirement, she became quite the "World Traveler". Among the many destinations visited were Mexico, Greece, Morroco, Finland, Russia, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, China & Japan. She also traveled the world aboard numerous cruiseships and visited many exotic destinations such as Italy, Turkey, Bali & Malaysia.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in her honor at her former residence, The Atria of Lake Forest, in Sanford, FL (date to be announced).
Mrs. Deusterman is survived by her best friend, caretaker and husband, John. As Fay was a generous lady, with a giving heart, who gave to numerous charities, she asked that any memorial donations be given to your favorite charity.
