Glenda Christine Passmore Stearns was born in Laurens County, Georgia on May 8th 1943 to Alexander Winfield Passmore and Anna Belle Ward Passmore. She was the youngest of Alexander’s 13 children. Glenda was raised in Thomaston, Georgia and attended Robert E Lee High School. She graduated in 1961 and worked for Carter Industries until she decided to join the Marine Corps in Spring of 1962. Glenda attended boot camp at Paris Island and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California for tour of duty.
Glenda had one daughter by a previous marriage, her name is Jalene Diane Stearns Reep.
Glenda met her husband Ted while working for the same company in Chicago, IL. They were married July 13, 1974. They were married for 35.5 years. They resided in Stanley Kansas where they built lifelong bonds with many. Their connections continued up until Glenda’s passing.
Glenda loved the Lord, her husband Ted, and her family. She loved people. Her desire was to see people grow in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
She was a faithful member of Living Water Fellowship in Kissimmee. There, she led a discipleship class. She was on the leadership team for Women’s Ministry, founder of several widows groups. One at Living Water and two at Solivita which was co-led with Nan Johnson. Glenda was a member of the Honor Guard for Veterans of Solivita. She belonged to Classy Red Hats of Solivita. And she was on the board of the Energized Christian Women’s Conference.
She is survived by Daughter, Jalene Diane Stearns Reep. Step-Children; Renee Jacobs, Craig Stearns, Todd Stearns, Brian Stearns. 12 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren with one on the way, and Sibling Edward Passmore.
A Visitation for Glenda will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Living Water Fellowship Church, 4101 Pleasant Hill Rd, Kissimmee, Florida 34746.
A Funeral Service will occur Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 4101 Pleasant Hill Rd, Kissimmee, Florida 34746.
A Committal Service will occur Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734.
