She was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 13, 1939 to the late Frederick & Helen (Bodnar) Leisner.
Helen met her beloved late husband, Willian Van Houten, in Brooklyn, and they married on June 24, 1961. They raised a beautiful family, strengthened by Helen's meticulous care and her kindness.
She was a devoted wife and mother, and deeply valued those roles. She enjoyed spending her free time cruising with her sweetheart, or shopping while he came along. Helen's strong faith, and deep family love sustained her til the end. She will be always be remembered.
Helen is survived by her children, Christina McCarthy, William Van Houten, Robert Van Houten, and Jean-Marie Van Houten; and her grandchildren, Andrew Filan, Shawn Van Houten, T.J. McCarthy, Tyler McCarthy, Robbie Eversfield, Willie Eversfield, Brittney Van Houten, Zach Van Houten, and Kyle Van Houten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 7th at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida with Visitation at 11:00am and Catholic Blessings at 12:00 with burial to follow.
