

Henry Jackson “Jake” Dominey entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was a wonderful husband, father, “Pa”, uncle and friend. Jake was born and raised in Orlando, FL and served on active duty in the United States Army from 1952 – 1953 and the Reserves from 1954 – 1958. He worked in the Orange County School System for 37 years and opened a number of schools including Durrance Elementary, Stonewall Jackson Middle and Liberty Middle and was the longest tenured principal at Boone High School. He was an active member of The Kiwanis Club of South Orlando and The Orlando Old Timers Club. Jake is survived by Sylvia Motley Dominey, his wife of 62 years, and his two granddaughters, Stefanie Dominey Thomas and Savannah Denise Thomas, both of Milledgeville, GA and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his daughter, the other love of his life, Denise Dominey Thomas. There will be a private graveside service for family at Woodlawn Cemetery.
