Ian was employed by Sea World and worked along side of his brother Robby, who also happened to be his best friend and confidante. When Ian was not working he could often be found playing a friendly game of poker with his dear friends Bernardo Alevato, Imran Mohamed as well as friends Brandon and Sarah Reed. Since Ian was very young he had enjoyed playing video games. This continued into his adulthood. Ian and Robby had a circle of friends that they would have game night with which included some of the above but also included Ben Bryan and Andy Papas. When not spending time with friends Ian could be found watching movies and enjoying his music while continuing to keep his artistic talents sharpened. He really enjoyed drawing and would draw things such as caricatures, cars, houses and anything else he had a mind to attempt to draw. He even worked at Disney Quest for a while teaching tourists how to draw characters. Ian had a sharp wit and had a sense of humor that could make the grumpiest person smile.
Ian was preceded in death by his grandfather Richard Pace, who we know was waiting to welcome him with open arms and is watching over him.
Ian is survived by his father David Shook, Monique Slater, his mother Lynn Hodges and step father Robert Hodges, his brothers Robby Hodges, Nils Weidemann and his child, his sister Olivia Feth, brother in law Massimo Feth and their four children, Gramma Mary Pace, Nanny Margaret Shook, GiGi Sandra Miller, Poppa Bill Miller, Grandma Edna and Grandpa Carl Brown. Ian is also survived by his aunts and uncles as follows, Tony and Vicki Pace and their five children, Renee and Walt Westmoreland and their seven children, Stewart and Ginger Shook and their two children, Andrew Shook and his three children, Lori Barclay and her three children, Jennifer and Edward Rutherford and their three children and Gail Morgan. There are a plethora of second and third cousins in addition to all of the above.
As you can see Ian comes from a large family. Family to Ian was sacred. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was never embarrassed to admit that. He was fiercely loyal to friends and family and would protect them at every turn. This was of course when he wasn't making them laugh with his quick wit and comedic stories. His second passion was for the love of animals. He loved to rescue them as a small boy, not always getting them through the front door, but as an adult had his own dog that he brought home from Oregon while visiting his Aunt. He named this little guy Louie and they were immediately inseparable. Ian always had a sensitive heart from the time he was very young. That carried him through all of his years. A kind, gentle, sensitive heart.
