

Irene Dubin Furman, age 81 died suddenly in her home on February 1, 2014. Irene is best known as the lady at Costo (University Drive) who organized the troops of dedicated men and women who served up the delicious samples on every isle. Countless others know Irene as their Weight Watcher leader who gave them delicious recipes and treated them to educational and fun demonstrations to help them reach their weight loss goals. She also is known to the classes of 1972-1980 in Pine Hills, as the school bus driver who not only brought countless children to school every morning, but also accompanied the Maynard Evans High School bands and choruses to concerts and competitions around the state.
Irene Furman was a loving wife to Irving Furman (7/21/28-7/7/12) for 54years. She was the mother of Myra Furman Cacace (Pepperell, Massachusetts) and Linda Furman Shaw (8/22/58-5/27/92), as well as her great friend and adopted daughter Jean Shaw (Orlando). She was the grandmother of Valerie Cacace Sharpe, Cassandra Shaw Rodriguez, Peter Cacace and Jessica Shaw and the great-grandmother of Victoria Rodriguez, Benjamin Sharpe, Marcus Rodriguez and Nathan Sharpe, aunt to her special nephew Richard Ring and his wife Vanna as well as several nieces, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews. Irene leaves her sisters Lillian Bifson of Atlantic City, NJ and Marlene Rowe who lives in Orlando.
Irene would want to be sure that her friends in Gulfstream Harbor (Linda, Neil, Willow, Shirley, Chace, Spencer, Marge, Susie, Kim, Erica, Ron, Pat, John, Brian & Barbara) knew how much she loved them and thanked them for all their help that made it possible for her to live independently in her home knowing that they were always looking out for her and for letting her play on their water volleyball team.
