Irmgard (Irma) Tudela, 94, passed away on September 13th peacefully in her sleep after a long and productive life. She was born in Bremerhaven, Germany August 2nd, 1931, the daughter of Richard and Franziska Tingler. She was their fifth child and had seven brothers and sisters, Werner, Rudi Martha, Inge, Rolf, Karin, and Peter. She has two sons, Ronald and Weimar, three grandchildren, Christina, Nicole, and Brittany and two great-grandchildren, Revan and Benelli.
She joins her husband Frank who was born in Cuba. Frank became a seaman and met her fellow seaman brothers, Rolf and Rudi, and they became friends. Traveling the world by ship they brought him home whenever in port at Bremerhaven. That is how they met and fell in love. Soon after they married, she moved to Cuba and had her first son Ronald. This was a trying time as her husband was at sea and she spoke no Spanish, and his family spoke no German. But they were a close and loving, blended family and soon she learned Spanish.
Soon after Ronald was born, they moved to Miami Beach, Florida where their second son Weimar was born. Frank left the sea and worked in the hotel hospitality industry. Twelve years later they moved to Orlando, Florida and stayed. Both worked in the hospitality industry, and both won awards for being exemplary employees.
Irma will be deeply missed by her family, and all those she came in contact with. She was deeply supportive and loving of all flavors of humanity.
Her memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida, on October 12th at 10:00am for viewing and 11:00am for her memorial service. All are invited to celebrate the wonderful soul she was.
