After a battle with pancreatic cancer and its complications, J. Steven Czerniejewski, much loved husband, father, brother, teacher, and friend passed away on Sunday, April 10. Steve was infinitely more than this illness and celebrating his life is significantly more important.
Steve was born in Seattle, Washington on May 2, 1965, and soon moved to Pittsburgh, PA where he lived until middle school. At that point, he moved to the Orlando area with his family. He attended Milwee Middle School and Lyman High School, and then went on to UCF to be a teacher. It was at UCF that he met his wife, Kim. Two years later they were married, and another year and a half later the love of his life, Carissa, was born.
Steve taught with Orange County Public Schools (at many, many schools) for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the Winter Garden Masonic Lodge for several years. He had many interests and passions: guitar/singing/music, pottery, golf, bicycling, teaching, Masonry, and his dog Bella.
Steve was loved and will be missed by his wife Kim, daughter Carissa (James) Cooper of Melbourne, FL, brother Eric (Carla) Czerniejewski and sister Jeanna Czerniejewski of Jacksonville, his mothers Lucile Hammond of Seattle, WA, Carol Forsloff of HI, and Sherry Czerniejewski of Jacksonville, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha, FL on April 22, 2022 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Winter Garden Masonic Lodge No. 165 or to Pancan.org.
