

Known as "Jimbo" or "Daddo" to his family, he worked for more than 50 years in the manufacturing industry before retiring to spend more time with friends, family and especially his grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Fla.

Jim was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on July 3, 1944, and attended Oak Ridge High School in Orlando as well as the Executive Management Program at Penn State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy with his brother Joe in 1966 and served on the U.S.S. Independence. The two brothers later served on the U.S.S. Constellation off the coast of Vietnam, working on the flight deck and on aircraft maintenance.
After leaving the service in 1970 he worked in manufacturing for more than 50 years and retired as a plant manager for Sonoco Products Company of Hartsville, South Carolina. Jim was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the Moose Legion with the Moose Lodge in Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia, sons Paul and Jason, grandchildren Aiden and Audra, brother Joe, daughter in law Heather, and numerous nieces and nephews across the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles “Lefty” and Audrey Rappold and brother Charles Edward Rappold.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jim's name may be given to your local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
