Joanne Ann Gauthier

Joanne was born on May 23, 1944 in Fornelli, Italy to Orazio and Carmina (Lancellotta) Petrarca. She came to the United States at age 12 and resided in Rhode Island until 1990, when she moved to Florida.

In 1965, she married Jean Gauthier and they had three children, Karen, Steven and Pamela.

After she retired from the Orange County School System she worked for a short time for Publix. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, cooking, traveling, and tending to her many houseplants and flowers. She also had many friends with whom she enjoyed vacations and other outings.

Joanne is predeceased by her parents, Carmina and Orazio Petrarca, her brother Vincenzo Petrarca and her sisters, Evelyn Valenta, Josephine Marini, and Rina D’Errico. She is survived by her loving husband Jean Gauthier and her children; her daughters Karen Silva (David) and Pamela Culver; her son Steven Gauthier (Ashley); her four grandsons, Jordan Silva, Jonathan Silva (Jocelyn), Benjamin Gauthier and William Gauthier; great-granddaughter, Juliet Silva; her sister, Antonia “Lucy” Antonaccio; her brother, Pasquale “Pat” Petrarca; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her name be made to Cornerstone Hospice and/or Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA).
