My Mother Mary, brother Ken and my family send out our deepest sympathy to you Cheryl and Wes. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
So many fond memories of your father especially the visits to our farm near Alburnett. Mother looked so forward to them. When all the brothers and sisters got together during those times what stories we heard. What a caring family they all were. So much laughter and happiness as they reminisced.

I only knew John through stories my mom (Helen) would tell me about her older brother. I might have seen John at a family reunion, but I am not sure if my memory serve me well. From the stories about John, I was very proud to have him as a uncle.  Thank you Vikki Novak for calling me tonight 7th Feb. to give me the news on uncle John.

I remember listening to some of Uncle John's war stories and some funny exploits when he and Ann were involved in Scouting.  I'll miss his humor and his stories.  I remember he and Ann talking about taking the boy scouts out on a hike and then they were supposed to have a hot dog roast.  They forgot the hot dogs and ended up with bean sandwiches.  Cheryl and Wes I'm so sorry for your loss.

I didn't know Uncle John very well, only  during his visits to Cedar Rapids to see his family. That's how I'll remember him. Listening to My father Wesley, Uncles Otto, Chuck, George, Johnny and aunts Mary and Helen telling stories about the old days. I think they had quite a time. 
My sincere condolences to the family during this difficult time.

John must have been quite a man to have reared a daughter like Cheryl who has been an explorer with a scientific bent, a caring counselor at school and a great reader. Do what you need to do down in Florida, but return to us in Pennsylvania.

On behalf of all your friends at Lehigh Gap Nature Center, please know we are thinking of you,Cheryl. I am so glad you were able to be there with your Dad at this most critical time as you have been there with him so many times before.
