

Joretta Corn Doggett, age 76 of Claremont, North Carolina and a former resident of Orlando, Florida died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 . She was a native of Polk County, North Carolina and a daughter of the late Henry Herman Corn and Creola Taylor Corn, a homemaker and graduate of Cool Springs High School Class of 1952 ; attended Cecil's Business College in Shelby, and a lifelong Baptist. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Doggett who died in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Clyde Carroll of Claremont, North Carolina, William Henry Carroll of Maiden, North Carolina, a sister, Joyce Corn Buckaloo of Forest City, grandson, Lance Carroll and wife Heather and great-grandchild, Julia Eve Carroll, and nieces, Rachel Tucker of Morganton and Janet Phillips of Ellenboro. Visitation will be held from one until two o'clock Saturday prior to the service at the mortuary. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday, April 7, 2012 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, Florida on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at two o'clock.
