August 19, 1934 to December 25, 2020
Joseph passed peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2020 in Orlando, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Shirley (nee Sharble), his devoted and loving children Donna and Joseph, Jr. (Maria), his adoring and adored granddaughter Danielle, his sister Lucy Yeager (Bob), nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was first and foremost a loving father and husband and devout Catholic, who placed his family and his faith above all things. He loved and supported his wife and children unconditionally with compassion and generosity of spirit. He was a role model for many and was the true definition of the word “gentleman”, loved and respected by his entire family, including his many cousins, aunts and uncles. But most especially, he was a role model for his children, who followed in his footsteps into the practice of law.
He practiced law for over 50 years and was a member of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida Bars. As an attorney, he was a consummate professional, highly respected by his peers. His ethics were beyond reproach and he advocated zealously for his clients.
Due to the pandemic, no services will be held at this time. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the earliest possible time in Florida and the family is planning a memorial service in New Jersey when conditions permit. Family and friends will be advised of the details so that we may all be together to celebrate Joe’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. Please visit www.alz.org and follow the links to make a donation in Joe’s memory.
