Justo Hugo Venegas, age 91, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2024. Born on May 12, 1933 in Camaguey, Cuba, Justo was the beloved son of Justo Leopoldo Venegas and Georgina de la Luz Betancourt.
Hugo immigrated to the United States from Cuba at the age of 15 and went on to attend Georgia Military College and Mount Verde Academy in Florida. He graduated from Boone High School and later attended architectural college in Miami. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Peggy Jean Allen, whom he married on March 16th, 1956.
Throughout his life, Hugo pursued many passions, including becoming a commercial pilot, aerial photographer and successful entrepreneur. He owned a printing and newspaper business and enjoyed hobbies such as scuba diving, fishing, skiing, and boating.
Hugo was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and his faith was a guiding force in his life. His commitment to the church community was a reflection of his deep-rooted faith and desire to spread kindness and compassion to those around them. He was a loving husband to Peggy and a devoted father to his children, Reynaldo Alan Venegas, Kathy Jones, and Rebecca Rood. He is also survived by his grandchildren Rachel Jones, Melissa Quiles, Tyler Venegas, Matthew Jones and Alexander Venegas, as well as six great-grandchildren.
As Hugo is laid to rest, his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His family is comforted in knowing his soul has found peace. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness and love.
