

Kenneth R. Giffin passed away on April 25, 2018 in Lake Mary, FL. He was born to the late Beulah and Elmer Giffin on December 27, 1924 in Blue Mound, KS. Ken was a US Army veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He excelled as an Instructor at the Army Artillery School in Ft. Sill, OK and Ft Hood, TX. Tanks were his specialty. After marrying his sweetheart, Midge, they made their life in Lawrence, KS where they raised their three daughters. Ken, with Cliff Turner, owned Lawrence Furniture Co. In 1970, the decision was made to move to Orlando, FL. Ken became President of Reserve Mechanical Inc, working for many years with Walt Disney World. Ken was quite the tease and was well liked and respected by all who knew him. His great joys were fixing things, singing, bowling, and a round of golf every once in a while.
Ken is survived by his wife Billie Sue Giffin; daughters, Donna Taylor of Garland TX, Karen (Stan) McCleskey of Spring Hill, FL , and Jeanne (Harry) Brenner of Monticello, FL; and step-son, Wm Scott (Susu) Seadler. Ken was also loved and adored by his 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife, I. Mildred "Midge" Giffin (02/08/1992), his brother, Warren Lee Giffin (10/26/1996), and step-son, Chris Seadler (10/03/2012).
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Jim Lewis and Jim Buck for their frequent and spirit-raising visits to Ken over the last few years. There will be no services at this time. Ken-Dad-Grandpa will be forever in our hearts.
