🕊️I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Lake Tulshi, a remarkable human being whose kindness knew no boundaries. He was a man of great warmth, humility, and humor—a friend to many and a respected figure in our community on the Corentyne coast.
Beyond his kindness and medical expertise, Dr. Tulshi was a pioneer in community service. Dr. Tulshi and my uncle, the late Dr. Herman Ramsammy, redefined what it meant to be a member of the Lions Club in Corentyne. No longer was it an exclusive club for businessmen of Rose Hall; under their leadership, the club became a force for inclusivity, welcoming people from all walks of life. Their vision transformed the club into a true pillar of community support, embodying the Lions’ motto: “We Serve.”
Dr. Tulshi’s life was one of purpose, selflessness, and service. His legacy is not just in the lives he saved as a doctor but also in the hearts he touched as a friend, mentor, and humanitarian. In his memory, let us carry forward the values he exemplified—kindness, humility, and an unwavering dedication to uplifting others.

My fondest memories of Uncle Lake are going  for visits at his home with my grandpa, John  Tulshi. 
Uncle Lake was a kind and generous person.

Lake Mamoo  was no ordinary uncle. As a nephew growing up, like so many of my cousins, we needed a hero we could call our own and who we could emulate. I found one in him. 
He was smart, selfless, and gave such super service to his community ... at all hours. A true professional he was. But he chatted with us as his equal and in the friendliest of terms. And that laugh of his, I am going to miss that especially. His presence as doctor and human being made, on so many occasions, our pains go away, literally and otherwise. 
We will miss him dearly.

My sincerest condolences to Angela Mamee and all my cousins.

Before his attachment to Port Mourant Hospital, he was at Suddie Hospital where as a teenager I accompanied him several times on his outreach trips along the Essequibo coast.  On these occasions, a pole with a white flag was implanted in front of a house where someone was sick.

I recall that in my early twenties, it was always a fun time to be around him.  As a matter of fact he treated all his nephews of my age group as his bosom friends.  I remember vividly that electrical blackouts on the Corentyne coast did not stop the fun from going on.  The inoperable jukebox was many times replaced by an upturned plywood chair which when knuckled with dexterity emanated sounds that rivaled that of the jukebox. In retrospect, I believe his life’s philosophy was similar to that espoused by the Greek Philosopher, Epicurus.

However, one should not underestimate his medical prowess.  On one occasion, one of my siblings was suffering from a perpetual cough and fever over several weeks. Despite  the intervention by several doctors  in Georgetown  there was no relief.  Later on Lake Mamoo carried out an examination and diagnosed, and treated the condition successfully.

Farewell, Lake Mamoo and may Lord Yamraj take you to your heavenly abode.

Our sincere condolencs go out to the Tulshi family, Uncle Lake was one of my dad's oldest and dearest friend, he truly was a wonderful person and doctor, our hearts and prayers go out to aunty Angela, Sabrina, Natasha, Angelina and Nicholas. The Lions community has been blessed with a humanitarian of indomitable spirit.  Lion President Lakhram Tulshi sought to alleviate the social and economic needs of the Guyanese community. His proclivity to  curb drug addiction among teenagers is reflected in his lectures to secondary school students and his association with the police,  He engendered a spirit of camaraderie in his interaction  with the community.
