

Lawrence (Larry) Joseph Fitzgerald, Jr. (86) of Orlando, FL, formerly of Adelphi, MD, died peacefully on November 9, 2016. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dolores Snyder Fitzgerald. He is survived by his six children: Michael (Maura), Stephanie Blackburn (Brian), Stephen (Lisa), Jennifer Jones (Blaise), Kimberly Casner (Jeffrey), Pamela Klein (Michael), 13 grandchildren, and his brothers, Robert, Francis, and Joseph, and is preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Petrie.
Larry was born on May 19, 1930 and raised in Washington, DC, serving in the Navy after graduating from Gonzaga College High School in 1948. After his service, Larry went on to study and graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park, 1960.
He worked for the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD until his retirement in 1997. After retiring, Larry continued to work for the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC until his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2006.
A memorial mass will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 801 N. Hastings Street, Orlando, FL 32808, followed by a graveside service at 11AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
