He was a beloved husband and father. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelia Rose, and by his parents, Leroy and Hazel. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn, and his son, Tyler, who were the great pride of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Myra, Billy, and Jimbo, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, loyalty, and family bonds.
Leroy honorably served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty, discipline, and service to his country. Following his military career, he continued his life of service and innovation by working on the space shuttle program at Cape Canaveral. He took great pride in this work and in being part of something larger than himself.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his friendly presence, his sense of humor and the values he lived by — responsibility, perseverance, and quiet strength. He was also respected and enjoyed to be around by colleagues and friends. His legacy lives on through those who loved him and the example he set throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
